Arm Wrestling in to the Future Updated 2/23/07
Although arm wrestling is not yet considered a mainstream sport it is one of the largest underground sports in the world. Tournament arm wrestling is a unique one on one sport that is a combination of strength, speed and technique. Competitions offer various weight divisions in 10 to 15lb increments for men, women and kids/teens. The competitions are divided into left hand and right hand classes, and novice, armature and pro divisions. Tournament arm wrestling first started in the mid 70's and has since grown into an international sport with over 1000 entries representing over 35 countries at the world championships. Thousands of arm wrestlers in the United States alone compete in sanctioned and non-sanctions tournaments nation wide.
We are true athletes; we practice extensive training and strict exercise acompanied by a dietary regime because arm wrestling is classed by weight. Arm wrestling is a means of exploring ones own capabilities, it encourages the player to look at, understand, and experience things. It teaches people lessons about themselves and possible the world and allows such insights to be passed on to others. We love our sport and train very hard to become the best that we can be which we know are world champions!
